This novel, but at the same time simple and easy capture system allows us to control and reduce the population of processionary larvae without having to come into contact with the caterpillars or use chemical products.
The PROCEREX ring captures the pine processionary larvae as they descend along the trunk to the ground. The ring creates a physical barrier that redirects the larvae until they are trapped in the large capacity catch bag. The assembly is quick and simple, only one ring per tree needs to be placed and it is possible to reuse it for several seasons. Installation at a minimum height of 3 meters is recommended to keep the stinging effect out of reach of people.
The PROCEREX ring is suitable for pine trees up to 110 cm in perimeter, for thicker pine trees it is possible to attach as many additional 63 cm extensions as necessary to cover the perimeter of the pine tree.
