Madrid – The Prince and Princess of Asturias, H.R.H. Don Felipe de Borbón and H.R.H. Doña Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, received in audience the directors of the company DTS Oabe, located in the Biscayan town of Orozko, last Tuesday, the 27th, at the Zarzuela Palace.

DTS Oabe is a full member of The World Technology Network (WTN) following the recent World Technology Summit in San Francisco (California, USA), which they attended as finalists in the World Awards for the manufacture of a non-polluting insecticide lacquer called Nupilac Hidro.

This meeting puts the finishing touch to a succession of successes and professional recognitions that has been growing in a vertiginous way since 2006, which began with the recognition of the Basque Government, continued with the National Environmental Award, the European Environmental Award and the nomination for the World Award, which meant the entry of DTS Oabe in the world elite of technology.

Nupilac Hidro’ is a revolutionary novelty among insecticides, as it is designed to reduce or eliminate the environmental disadvantages of conventional lacquers, with zero dermal and inhalation toxicity, non-flammable and with no gas emissions into the atmosphere. An important feature is that it can be applied in schools, hospitals or food establishments, without the need to close the premises once the product has been applied.

The different juries have seen in the project presented by DTS Oabe “the innovative aspect of this insecticide product applied as a lacquer, which avoids atmospheric pollution and does not harm human health” and emphasize that “it needs five times less insecticide, has no VOC emissions and has a long-term efficiency”. They also consider that “it lacks a re-entry period, which means that the product can be applied in schools, hospitals or food establishments, without the need to close the premises once the product has been applied”.

Despite being just over three years old and employing only five people, DTS Oabe has surpassed major companies in the sector and has placed itself on a par with many leading companies in terms of compliance with the principles of sustainable development.
